Great Wall Motor Co., China's largest manufacturer of crossovers and SUVs, delivered 65,583 vehicles in June, an increase of 29 percent from a year earlier.
The company received a boost from its top-selling model, the Haval H6 compact crossover. Last month, H6 sales totaled 37,547 vehicles, surging 60 percent year on year and accounting for more than half of Great Wall's deliveries.
Great Wall launched sales of a new compact crossover, the Haval H7, in April. Last month, deliveries of the Haval H7 reached 3,594 vehicles.
The company's sales of crossovers and SUVs totaled 57,547 vehicles, up 35 percent from a year earlier, reflecting robust demand for the H6.
Great Wall is also China's largest pickup maker. In June, it delivered 6,864 pickups, up 11 percent year on year.
By contrast, sedan sales have thinned to a trickle as the company focuses on crossovers. Great Wall delivered 1,172 sedans in June, a decline of 45 percent from a year earlier.
In the first six months, Great Wall's total vehicle sales increased 8 percent from the year-earlier period to 450,252 vehicles on demand for crossovers.
Great Wall, headquartered in the north China city of Baoding, is listed in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
