LED packaging house Everlight reported flat August revenues of NT$1.35 billion (US$46.38 million), representing a 17.19% on-year decrease. Low demand for TV backlight modules (BLUs) was the reason for the flat August revenues, according to Everlight.
Everlight's accumulated revenues from January-August were NT$10.919 billion, showing a 4.25% on-year decrease. Everlight indicated during a previous investors conference that third-quarter revenues were likely to show a 10% decrease. September performance is expected to be steady due to a return in demand for LED lighting and small-size BLUs.
Revenues in the second half of 2011 are expected to be flat compared to revenues from the first half, stated Everlight. Demand for LED TV BLUs will return in second-quarter 2012, according to Everlight.
Ledtech saw August revenues of NT$160 million, up 18% sequentially due to increased orders of low-temperature LED lighting products. Ledtech reported accumulated revenues from January-August of NT$1.104 billion, an on-year decrease of 14%. Ledtech indicated that September revenues are likely to be flat or show a slight decrease.
