Shipments of OEM LCD monitors by TPV Technology are expected to top 60 million units in 2011 while rival company Chimei Innolux (CMI) is likely to ship about 25-30 million units of OEM monitors in the year, according to industry sources.
TPV shipped 28.93 million LCD monitors in the first half of 2011, up 9.5% from a year earlier and contributing 56% to total revenues for the six-month period, company data showed.
TPV also shipped 6.07 million LCD TVs during the January-June period, down 4% on year and contributing 33.4% to total revenues.
LCD monitor shipments from CMI totaled 13 million units in the first half with orders coming mostly from Hewlett-Packard (HP), Dell and Lenovo, said the sources.
