Chinese retailer GOME Electrical Appliances Holding Ltd. (00493.HK) said Tuesday its January-September net profit rose 24% from a year earlier because of higher sales.

The Hong Kong-listed company posted a net profit of CNY1.79 billion ($282 million) for the nine months ended Sept. 30, up from CNY1.44 billion a year earlier. The company, which is based in Beijing and operates under two major brands, GOME Appliances and China Paradise, said revenue rose 18% to CNY43.98 billion from CNY37.27 billion.
