General Motors and its joint ventures delivered 273,563 vehicles in June, advancing 11 percent year on year.
For the first six months, GM achieved record China sales, with deliveries up 5.3 percent to more than 1.8 million vehicles.
GM last month enjoyed strong demand for Cadillac, Buick and Baojun brands, but Chevrolet sales continued to plunge.
Cadillac deliveries surged 34 percent to 9,552 vehicles on volumes generated by the ATS-L and XTS sedans and the XT5 crossover.
Buick sales increased 10 percent to 86,054 vehicles. The Excelle GT compact car was Buick's top-seller, with sales exceeding 26,000. It was followed by the Envision, which recorded sales of more than 14,000.
Baojun deliveries more than doubled from a year earlier to 43,249, with the 730 compact multipurpose vehicle and the 560 compact crossover each recording sales of more than 20,000.
After contracting for more than a year, the Wuling brand's sales resumed growth, increasing 8 percent from a year earlier to 99,017. Deliveries of the Hong Guang compact MPV topped 30,000 during the month.
But Chevrolet's deliveries continued to shrink, slumping 25 percent year on year to 35,648 in June. GM plans to launch the new Cruze compact sedan in the third quarter to revive Chevrolet's sales.
GM also sells a small number of imported vehicles in China. Sales of its imported vehicles are unavailable.
